- A family from Bethlehem are forced to move to Moab because of a famine in their land.
- I don't think we can live through this famine, we need to leave Bethlehem and go to Moab!

- God has taken my husband from me!
- However, not long after their arrival, Elimelek (husband and father) dies, and Naomi is left alone with her two sons.
- After many days of traveling, the family reaches Moab

- Orpah
- Later on, Kilion and Mahlon find Moabite wives, named Orpah and Ruth.
- Ruth
- 10 years later Mahlon and Kilion die in a war and leave Naomi with only her two daughters-in-law.
- Now we're all alone!

- After Kilion and Mahlon pass away, Naomi tells Orpah and Ruth to go back home. However, the women insist on staying with Ruth.
- My daughters, go back to your homelands and be with your families!
- Reaction shot Orpah and Ruth
- No, we want to stay with you!
- Later on during the conversation, Orpah decides to go back home. Ruth, however, clings to Naomi and refuses to leave her side.
- Naomi, where you go, I go!
- Zoom in on Ruth and Naomi
- I will miss you both so much!
- Jumpcut to Bethlehem
- Call me Mara-I have a sad life!
- While in Bethlehem, some women recognize Naomi. Naomi was greatly burdened by her troubles, and she told them to call her Mara, because God had made her life very sad.
- Naomi finally realizes that Ruth isn't gong to go back to her homeland, so the two decide to take a trip, and when they come to Bethlehem they stop.

- Go, my daughter.
- Ruth and Naomi stay in Bethlehem, and Ruth decides she will go out and look for food for them.
- I am going to the fields. Maybe someone will be kind enough to let me gather the grain they leave behind.
- So Ruth went to the fields and gathered the left behind grain. It just so happened that the field belonged to Naomi's relative named Boaz.
- You are so kind.
- Ruth asks him why he has been so kind, and Boaz replies that he knows what she has done for Naomi.
- Boaz shows up at the fields and asks who Ruth is. Once he is informed, he tells her to continue gathering grain from his fields.
- May the Lord bless you!
- Boaz
- Jumpcut back to Naomi
- Who let you gather all of this grain today? Blessed be whoever noticed you!
- Ruth came back to Naomi and showed her all of the grain she had collected. Naomi was very surprised and happy, and asked Ruth who had allowed her to gather it.
- Ruth answered that Boaz had, and Naomi was very happy.
- Boaz was the man who let me work today!
- Naomi tells Ruth that she must find a home for Ruth, and Boaz would be a good person to take care of her. Naomi sends Ruth to get ready and to fancy herself up to wait on Boaz at the threshing floor.
- Boaz is at the threshing floor tonight, get ready and go to meet him, but wait until he lays down before you reveal yourself to him.
- Zoom in on Naomi speaking
- Jump cut to Boaz's room
- I am Ruth. It is your duty to be the guardian redeemer of our family.
- In the middle of the night Boaz woke up to find Ruth with him. Startled, he asked who she was, to which she replied I am your servant Ruth. Ruth then proceeded to ask him to be the families guardian redeemer.
- Ruth waits until Boaz is done eating and drinking, and then she follows him to the place where he lays down.
- I will do all that you ask, but there is a man ahead of me for this position so I must ask him first.
- Jump cut back to Naomi
- Boaz will accept the role as long as the man in front of him turns it down.
- So Ruth returns to Naomi and tells her everything that Boaz said. Naomi tells Ruth to wait and see what happens.
- Wait and see what happens my daughter.
- Meanwhile, Boaz went to the city gate and waited for the close relative to come by. Boaz explained to him that Naomi and Ruth need a guardian redeemer, and that he was first in line, but that accepting the position also meant that had to marry Ruth.
- Doing this may harm my sons, buy the land yourself.
- Close relative
- You are next in line to be the redeemer, but if you accept you must marry Ruth.
- In the end, the man decides that he doesn't want to be the guardian redeemer, and he gives Boaz permission to take the spot.
- Jump cut to city gate
- Jump cut to Ruth
- Boaz returns to Naomi and Ruth and tells them the close relative has turned down the position, and that he himself is going to take the role of guardian redeemer and also marry Ruth.
- I will be your guardian redeemer and your husband!
- So Boaz and Ruth got married and had a baby, which the neighbors named Obed, because they said the boy was born for Naomi.
- Naomi was very happy, and helped care for the child.
