- Who's There?
- *chuckles*
- “It is nothing but the wind in the chimney — it is only a mouse crossing the floor,” or “it is merely a cricket which has made a single chirp.”
- *heart beating*
- As the narrator was watching the old man he chuckles to himself, thinking dark thoughts. The old man rose up upon hearing the noise. he calls out looking for a response.
- The narrator stood still trying to not move a muscle, then the old man began listing off 'possibilities' of the creator of the sound. The narrator opened the Lateran so light can poke though and so he can see awful eye.
- AHHHH!
- The narrator looked at the old man studying the vulture eye, it was nothing but a dull blue. It gave him chills down to his bones. A mall beating was starting to be heard, it increased his fury.
- the narrator remained still and barely breathed. He tried his best to keep the ray of the lantern on the eye. The beating of heart got quicker and louder!
- Bum bum
- The narrator stood still for a bit longer, but the beating got louder! It kept on growing and growing, the sound might be heard by the neighbors! The man's time has come.
- The narrator threw open the lantern and leaped out. The man shrieked, once. The narrator dragged him onto the floor and pulled the bed onto him.
