Louisiana Purchase (1803)

American Indian Removal "Westward Expansion" (1830- 1838)

The Texas Revolution (1835-1836)

"Indians" Removal in the Southeast (1830's)

Oregon Treaty (1846)

The Mexican War (1846-1848)

The Americans were eager about the purchase of the Louisiana Territory but there were Indigenous people who felt like the Americans were taking away all their land and destroying their ways of life. The Americans did not care because they wanted the land very much and continued to take the land of the Indigenous people and the Indigenous people started to move west, forced to leave their homeland behind.

When the Indian Removal act was passed, American citizens were ready to take the Native American's land. The American's fought against the Indigenous tribes who did not have many people of weapons. The Americans knew they were going to win so they continued to take land, while the Indigenous people were forced to flee or be forced into reservations.

Mexico was worried that too many of the American settlers were coming to populate their land. Mexico was angry and wanted to prevent more Americans settling in Mexican territory and as a result the American colonists in Texas got mad and decided to go to war which led to both sides fighting.

The Americans were deciding upon removing the "Indians" in the southeast and finally agreed to do it. They tried to force the Native American tribes to sign treaties giving up their land, and used these treaties as excuses to seize the Native American's land which made the Native Americans angry, but they couldn't fight back against the United States and were forced back west.

The American Settlers were very excitedabout moving to the Oregon territory but when they got there they realized Indigenous people controlled the land, so they wanted to get rid of them. The Indigenous people did not allow them to move at first and then reluctantly signed awaypart of the land, but the treaty was broken which led to war, and the United States eventually took over all of their land.

The American's were ready for war to take over Mexican territory and started trying to start a war, and succeeded. Mexico was very angry at the United States, so they went to war over the land, and Mexico finally lost, being forced to give a large amount of land to the United States.
