Aspen to Earth Part 2
Storyboard Text
- This was a terrible idea. I just want to go home and read my star book and have a cheeseburger!
- As soon as they walked into the mall, Aspen knew it was a mistake. The sounds, the sights. She was so overwhelmed she wanted to cry.
- THE MALL
- Do you think she's OK?
- Somehow people never seemed to think her hilarious jokes were as funny as she did. And they told bizarre and generally insulting jokes.
- I don't get the joke. Were you saying something bad about me?
- No! I'm a clown - I was trying to joke. It's called sarcasm! No? Nada?
- The cafeteria turned out to have pizza every day and not a cheeseburger in sight. She was clumsy and kept tripping over chairs and knocking over pizza. She hated pizza.
- Things don't seem this hard for the other people!
- One day Aspen decided to try Astronomy Club. She brought a big plate of cheeseburgers and told everyone about her life and they all talked about stars late into the night.
- No. Way. Awesome.
- OMG did you guys know that I used to hang out on the rings of saturn?
- Cool!
- Asp's Burgers
- Aspen decided to start a space themed cheeseburger shop right across from school. Not surprisingly, it took off.
- Welcome everyone!!
- Today's Special: Out of the world cheeseburgers
- Even today on earth, people refer to someone with traits like Aspen - minimal eye contact, easily overwhelmed and frustrated, different sense of humor, specific interests, a bit clumsy - as people with "Aspergers" (Asp Burgers) or "Aspies". And now you know why. Meanwhile in outer space they are looking forward to some good burgers. Or something like that.
