- Hi! Few days back, I attended a big meeting at work. Then, I ordered food from a nearby restaurant. The next day, I went on a hiking trip with my friends. Yesterday, I started feeling fever, headache, fatigue and skin rash.
- Hello! I am a medical consultant and I am here to cure you. Please tell me what do you feel? Where did you go? When did the symptoms started?
- What? Please help me. What medicine should I take and how can I prevent being affected by this disease again?
- Okay, lay down and let me check on you. I also need to do some blood tests for you, but based on what you said , I am pretty sure that you are infected with Lyme Disease. Most probably you got it when you were in the hiking trip where you were bitten by an infected blacklegged tick.

- Take it easy. You just need to take a course of antibiotics for few weeks. Thank God that you are still at the initial stage and hence will not affect your nervous system, heart, and joints. In order to prevent this from happening again, do not go through high grass or the woods, shower after being outside, use insect repellent, wear closed shoes, long sleeved shirts & long pants.
