hello everyone and welcome back to channel ODC. today we will be taking a look back on the amazing life of german-jewish, american, inventor game developper and engineer Ralph Bear
Ralph henry Baer was born on march 8 1922, Germany. At the age of 14 Ralph was expelled from his school because he was jewish, the situation in Germany was getting really bad. in 1938 him and his family left the country, one year before the world war, to go to America. The first few years were tough as he had to gain money but once he joined the army he discovered what he liked the most. He was apart of military intelligence and was attracted and fascinated by electronics and engineering.
After the war he wanted to continue to working with electronics and went to multiple companies before joining Sanders Associates in 1956, where he stayed until retiring in 1987

What Ralph Baer is known for is being the father of video games. During 1967 and 1969, him and his colleagues Bill Harrison and Bill Rusch built the “Brown Box,”

Ralph Baer was very deservedly rewarded in the last ten years of his life, he was included in the National Inventors Hall of Fame in 2010 and was given the National Medal of Technology by President George W. Bush.

Ralph Baer died peacefully in 2014 at the age of 92. He died in his house in Manchester remembered as a legend by many people.
