The Church was corrupt because it had corrupted leaders and the priests were uneducated and had no morals. People were unhappy with the church because it was selling indulgences and not following the morals and teaching of Scripture.

Luther's 95 Theses was an urge to reform the church. It was criticizing the church and the printing press caused it to spread like wildfire.
King Henry VII-Problems
The Church threatened to excommunicate Luther and called him a rebellious monk and a serious threat. The Church declared him a heretic.

Christianity split into two different branches and the new branch split into even more branches The new branch was called protestants which was against the Church and believed in predestination and sinners by nature.

King Henry VII was the king of England and became a protestant. He married many times because he wanted a son. He ended up killing a couple of his wives.
Three key reformers of the Catholic Reformation are Ignatius of Loyola, Pope Paul lll, and Pope Leo lV. There was a Thirty's Years War between the Catholics and the Huguenots (French protestants). Ignatius founded the Jesuits who converted Protestants. Pope Paul lll founded the Council of Trent which helped the Reformation.
