- The Father is asking Samuel if he knows who pooped on the lords table, Samuel shook his head no. Later on he said that he did it even though it wasn't him.
- Samuel is being sold at the auction because he took the blame for having the accident on the Lords table. Samuel had his named changed to Friday when he got sold.
- Samuel/Friday is being brought to the planation (Gerald's home) and they are riding in a wagon while Gerald is looking at Samuel, Samuel does not look back.
- Gerald took Samuel/Friday too the river to play baseball with him. Gerald thought Samuel would be a way better pitcher than he was but they worked on it and he got better. Samuel/Friday would pitch the ball to Gerald and then go fetch it like a dog and bring it back over and over again.
- The slaves started reading the bible to show that they can read, they are smart enough to escape, and convince the slave owners to let them go.
- Samuel was at the well when Celia walked past staring at Samuel but Samuel didn't recognize her. Celia then pulls Sarah's arm and says "look mama, look" Sarah's mouth drops open and Sarah tells him who they are because he still doesn't recognize them. Samuel tries to say sorry for leaving them but Celia puts her hand on his mouth and says it doesn't matter.
