Get out of my way peasant
Fancy a game lad
1066, in England there was a king who had sadly past having no heir to the throne this caused conflict between three people who all thought they deserved the throne. Harold Godwinson, William duke of Normandy and Harold Hadrada. Harold Godwinson was supported by the British and as quickly as possible was crowned the king. This enraged the other two men which Harold knew meant he needed to be on high alert.
The battle of Stamford bridge
Harold Godwinson had always thought the French would be the first to attack but oh how wrong he was. The Vikings led by Hadrada invaded the north east of England around York. This would mean Harold would have to march 180 miles in just 4 days!

William duke of Normandy invades the south of England
After the English arrived led by Godwinson at Stamford Bridge there was only one man in their way before they could send the Vikings packing. One singular axeman. He slaughtered at least 50 soldiers before getting pierced right in the groin by a spear from underneath the bridge.
Once the rest of the Vikings arrived almost completely armourless and scattered, the British were ready to attack. After hours of brutal war between the two sides a British archer took aim and fired straight at Harald Hadrada’s throat. The British made the Vikings promise never to invade Britain again.

Huge celebrations were going on until suddenly, celebrations were cut short. Harald Godwinson had gotten word that there was a new foe invading England from the south. They were no other than the French led by William Duke Of Normandy. Timing couldn’t have been more perfect for him.
