  • On January 30, 1933, Adolf Hitler was appointed chancellor of Germany. Within two years, Hitler and his Nazi Party had complete control over Germany under his dictatorship. Hitler promised to restore German cultural values, put the German people back to work and restore Germany to its "rightful position" as the world power.
  • Attack of Pearl Harbor
  • September 1, 1939, Germany invades Poland. Adolf Hitler wished to use Poland as a "living space" for the German people. Britain and France believed otherwise. They then declared war on Germany initiating World War II
  • D-Day
  • MARCH TO VICTORY!!!
  • The Holocaust was the World War II genocide of the European Jews. Between 1941-1945 across German-occupied Europe, Jews were being killed. Numbers reached 6 million and two-thirds of the Jewish population was wiped out. At first, the Jews were being executed but afterward, the Jews ended up being sent to concentration camps. There they were treated like animals and were either sent to work or to their deaths.
  • Hiroshima and Nagasaki
  • On December 7, 1941, Pearl Harbor was attacked by a surprise military strike by the Imperial Japanese Navy Air Service. The bombing killed over 2,300 Americans. It completely destroyed the American Battleship U.S.S. After this tragedy America decided to finally enter World War II
  • On D-Day, June 6, 1944, Allied forces launched a combined naval, air, and land assault on Nazi-occupied France. It was code-named operation "Overlord", the Allied landings on the Normandy beaches marked the start of a long campaign to free North West Europe from Nazi control.
  • During the final stage of World War II, on August 6 and 9, 1945, the United States dropped two nuclear bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Hiroshima bomb code-named "Little Boy". Nagasaki code-named "Fat Man". The U.S refused to surrender and soon after the second atomic bomb Japan gave in therefore ending World War II.
