It’s true! Yes, I have been ill, very ill ……I heard sounds from hell!
The madman begins by explaining that yes, he have been sick recently, but that he is not mad. The madman then goes on to relate some past events involving the old man, events that they claim even prove his sanity.
The madman said that he didn’t hate the old man, that he even loved him. He mentioned that the old man had a vulture-like eye, and that the old man’s eye gave the madman a cold feeling when he looked at him. The only thing to do was to kill the old man so the vulture eye could never look at him again.
In the day time, he was friendly to the old man.
At night he crept into his room. For seven days straight this happened, the madman is still unable to kill the man because he had his eyes closed.
It is on the eight night that the old man wakes up when the madman enters the room. The old man knows that someone is there, and he even cries out with fear. The madman can finally see the awful vulture eye, and finally he is able to murder the old man. After he murders the old man, he quickly hide the evidence.
Suddenly the police came, the madman invite them in and play along as long as he could. Then he couldn't take it anymore, so he revealed his crime to the police officers. The weird thing was that the old man's heart was still beating.
