- You need to explore Louisiana Lewis.
- We need to map out the Mississippi river.
- And investigate territory.

- In 1803 President Jefferson knew the importance of exploring the Louisiana purchase. So he ask Lewis and his friend Clark with a 2,500 budget. The reason they wanted this was it was double the size of the United states. The expedition would take over two years. They would hope to find a river that would run to the pacific ocean. They would even have a group of people with them.
- Get in the boat then
- We need to explore the Mississippi river.
- The goals of the expedition is to explore the Mississippi river, and map it out. Another goal they have is to explore the land. The reason they want to explore the Mississippi river is because it's mysterious, and had untamed wilderness.So they had to map the hole Mississippi river out, so they can explore it later. The last goal was to be able to explore the hole territory with a group of people because it was new.

- Hi i'm Sacajawea.
- At evening a group of people found a bear, and hunters shot at it. Six hunters shot the bear, but it did not die. It slowed the bear down a little. The bear chased them into the river, and they threw there stuff in, as well. Last one man shot the bear then it died. It was close, so the corps made a safer way of hunting bears.
- There are flowers I never seen, look.
- Yeah your right, look at this yellow one.
- The land forms they discovered was the Mississippi river, and it was so big, they had to explore it. Some other land forms are the states they explored. Like Arkansas, Missouri, Iowa, Kansas, Oklahoma, Nebraska. Some more states are South Dakota, North Dakota, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, Minnesota, New mexico, and Texas. What they had to do was explore all these important locations to know the way of the land they bought.
- Whats happening is that in November Lewis and Clark met Sacajawea, and her Native american tribe. She served during the trip, and she helped Lewis get extra supplies. The supplies were horses and prevented hostile relationships. She help then know what plants were edible and the one that were not. After they met they traveled 15 miles with them.
- Whats happening in this photo is that Lewis and Clark found flowers they never seen before. They discovered 178 plants. They are confused because they never seen the flowers, and they are new to them. The flowers are sometimes useful to, So they would take some. The last thing is that Lewis and Clark see 3 new flowers they never seen.
