Students have the means and tools to successfully participant in the computer world of technology and learning in the school/classroom environment and at home.
Who are disenfranchised with Digital Access
· Schools and students who reside in rural areas have limited access to quality high-speed internet connections.
· School districts are faced with funding issues and cannot provide computes for students
· Students/families lack computers and internet in the home and are not financially able to afford them
How to Improve Digital Access
· Teachers/Schools evaluate and take a poll of how many students they have who do not have access to technology at home (don’t assume) so that school technology accommodations can be made
· When limited computers are available incorporate learning stations in the classroom
· Allow students to bring and use personal computers in class
· Establish a computer lab for use afterschool
· Seek grants or fundraisers for purchasing computers
