What is a Map Worksheet?

Teaching students to use maps assists in honing key social studies concepts as well as the ability to think spatially. Students can learn more about the geographic, economic, political and social features of a country or region to increase their overall understanding of its history and its present! These map worksheet templates have pre-made maps that students can use for labeling places or events, describing physical features, and more.

Why are they important and how are they best used?

Geography has a huge impact on science and historical events. Accurate maps are also hard to draw! Places and features can be labeled, but maps may be even more useful as a visual reference to accompany an analysis of historical events, ocean currents, and current politics. They can be used in conjunction with units on Indigenous Peoples, Ancient Civilizations, Colonial America, and more!
